Yorkshire Bank is proud to support cycling in Yorkshire. The Tour de Yorkshire partnership brings together our customers, communities and colleagues. Yorkshire Bank is delighted to be involved with this world-class event for the third year running, including sponsoring the race’s coveted sprinter jersey.
Cycling participation is a huge part of the bank’s commitment, specifically through the ground-breaking Yorkshire Bank Bike Libraries (YBBLs) initiative. The scheme aims to help get more young people across Yorkshire cycling. Yorkshire Bank is extremely pleased that the YBBLs will return for a second year as an Official Partner to Stage 3 of the Tour.

Yorkshire’s Doncaster Sheffield Airport and airline partner Flybe are proud to support the Tour De Yorkshire. Flybe operates ten routes from Doncaster Sheffield Airport including direct links to Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin and Berlin which will bring a number of visitors to the heart of race. Doncaster Sheffield Airport is easy to reach thanks to the Great Yorkshire Way motorway link road from the M18 meaning all race stages are not far away. Steve Gill, chief executive of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “This event is the showcase sporting event of our region, bringing together our customers and communities in a fantastic celebration of cycling”.

Cycling is one of the sports to which, Tissot, the number one Swiss traditional watchmaker in terms of volume and a member of the Swatch Group – the world’s largest watch producer and distributor – is most committed. It has been a sponsor of cycling events for over 50 years, including for the Tour de France from 1988 to 1992. Tissot further enhances its commitment by its association to the International Cycling Union (UCI) in 1995. These sponsorships are a mean for Tissot to attract a wide audience of people who can associate themselves with this sport based on endurance and achievement. Further to this partnership, Tissot becomes Official Timekeeper and Sponsor of the World Championships of road, track, mountain bike, BMX and the World Cup Classics track series as well as the Mountain Bike World Cup. Since 2016, Tissot is proud to be back as Official Timekeeper of the Tour de France, one of the most prestigious road cycling events in the world.
As part of the legacy of the Tour de France, Yorkshire Bank Bike Libraries have been established across the county in a bid to give every child in Yorkshire free access to a bike. Set up by Welcome to Yorkshire and supported by Yorkshire Bank, the scheme has already delivered over 35,000 opportunities to cycle at over 40 bike libraries, using bikes donated by the people of Yorkshire. Yorkshire Bank Bike Libraries are delighted to be returning for a second year as Stage 3 partners.
