The Village

The Village, Millennium Square,  Leeds

The Village officially gets underway on Wednesday with the highly anticipated Eve of Tour celebrations.

This fantastic event will have it all.

Spectacular live music, entertainment and the TDY team presentations on a stage in Millennium Square. The event is free, open to all and is a fantastic way to kick off the fifth edition of the Tour de Yorkshire.

From then on Millennium Square will be a hub for all things TDY as Thursday and Friday sees food vendors descend on The Village and live coverage of the men’s and women’s stages broadcast in their entirety on the big screen.

Our sponsors Heart Radio will also be announcing something extremely exciting, so make sure to stay tuned in!

To continue the celebrations after the first day’s action we will be welcoming The White Rosettes to perform on stage. This 75 piece choir have been bringing the party vibes for 40 years and are not to be missed.

Then, after day 2’s action has finished, there will be an exciting dance group and local choir helping The Village celebrate in the form of Caroline Atha School & SMTY Choir.

From Saturday, The Village truly is the place to spend the bank holiday weekend as 2 days of wonderful entertainment compered by Peg Alexander gets underway.

Exhibitors start to arrive and visitors will be treated to amazing activities such as the Go-Ape Segway Challenge, a snowboard simulator courtesy of Snozone and Clip ‘n Climb will be around for climbing fun too.

The Yorkshire Post will be bringing their bus along and our friends Hell Oar High Water will also be in attendance to talk about their heroic upcoming voyage across the Atlantic.

Over the course of the weekend, there will be a wide variety of performances from local choirs and solo artists all the way through to blues, jazz, rock and brass bands.

Worried there still isn’t enough to keep the kids entertained all day?

Fear not.

There is an abundance of fun things for families to enjoy including face painting and craft activities in the WTY stand.

If that wasn’t enough variety, there will also be a book signing with Andrew Vine and live painting with official TDY artist Mackenzie Thorpe.

Specific timings can be found on our what’s on page – we can’t wait to see you at The Village.
