Tour de Yorkshire organisers Welcome to Yorkshire have announced that voting is now open for the race’s 2019 Land Art Competition.

Vote online now

The deadline for voting is midnight on Friday 14 June and once the numbers have been counted and verified, the winner will be presented with the coveted Tour de Yorkshire Land Art Trophy.

Welcome to Yorkshire’s Commercial Director Peter Dodd said: “Giant, spectacular land art is now synonymous with the Tour de Yorkshire and we’re always amazed by the number and quality of the pieces we see lining the route each year.

“The efforts people go to produce these eye-catching creations is utterly unbelievable, and organising this competition is our way of rewarding that ambition and endeavour.

“We’d like to thank everyone who created land art for this year’s race. It was an incredibly tough job compiling the shortlist because we had so many great, imaginative entries, and we wish the very best of luck to all those who have been selected.”

Last year’s winner was the iconic “Confetti Land Art” project commissioned at Wentworth Woodhouse and created by James Brunt and his team at The Landmark Collective.

In June a public Twitter vote will also be held to determine the winners of the Tour de Yorkshire’s Best Dressed competition. The four categories are: Best Dressed Village, Best Dressed Town, Best Dressed Host Location and Spirit of Le Tour.

Welcome to Yorkshire are currently compiling a shortlist of the top four entries from each category and they will go to a public vote at @letouryorkshire. The lucky winner of each category will then be presented with an exclusive commemorative plaque.
