Another new host location for 2020, Redcar will be the most northerly location the race has ever visited.

Its breathtaking landscapes, picturesque beaches and endless coastline make Redcar a truly idyllic seaside resort. Once famed as a fishing village, Redcar boasts an array of museums, galleries and monuments showcasing the town’s rich history and heritage.

Redcar has recently undergone some exceptional seafront regeneration and is now home to the iconic landmark ‘The Redcar Beacon’. This stunning architectural masterpiece rises 80ft into the skyline, providing spectacular panoramic views which will

take your breath away.

History buffs will enjoy a visit to the Kirkleatham Museum where you’ll be treated to some of the rarest Anglo-Saxon finds ever discovered and the nearby Zetland Lifeboat Museum houses the world’s oldest lifeboat.

If it’s activities you’re after, you’ll be spoilt for choice. For those who are feeling adventurous, there’s an array of water sports to please everyone. Thrill seekers can enjoy windsurfing, kite surfing and surfing, while there’s the option of fishing on the beach or rocky gullies for those who prefer something slightly less intense.
