A brutal day in the saddle saw all the biggest names in the sport attack each other again and again, until it was 3 riders out front. One of them was the great Marianne Vos and she was not to be beaten in the sprint.
An intriguing stage saw a break almost succeed but they were caught with 3km to go and up-and-coming sprint sensation Lorena Wiebes bagged her first WTDY victory into Bedale.
Following a pattern from 2018, a break went early doors and successfully managed to hold off the bunch with Jesper Asselman sealing victory into Selby.
2018 winner Greg Van Avermaet found success in Leeds with a stage win, however it was Team INEOS rider Chris Lawless, in second on the day, who managed to bag the overall GC prize with another strong performance.
The riders set off from Bridlington and an attack over the Moors saw a strong, elite group gain time on the rest of the bunch. In Scarborough it was Alexander Kamp who proved to be strongest in the sprint.
This stage from Barnsley to Bedale saw an early break almost hold out to the end before they were reeled in with 5km to go and Rick Zabel won the sprint.
